As you are now aware, an arbitration hearing was held this past Monday to determine the terms of our new contract. The arbitrator ruled in our favor and has issued an award mirroring the CBA you ratified in July. Once the CBA is signed, it will be available in its entirety. However, here is a synopsis:
2021
No wage increase
No holiday benefits
No premium pay
No extra day off
No holiday regular pay
No saved/banked holidays
Reduced contribution to Retiree Health
**
You will still have your birthday, uniform allowance, HSA contribution, and step grade pay increase.

There is also now a new addition to to Article 18/Court Time/Jury Duty – 18.4
“18.4 Telephonic/Video Appearances. An officer providing telephonic or video testimony pursuant to a subpoena to testify concerning matters arising out of the performance of his or her assigned duties, shall be compensated in accordance with Articles 18.1 and 18.3”
Simply, this new article means telephone or video testimony is now compensated in the same manner as actual court appearances.
**
All other terms of the Contract continue unaffected.
2022
All holiday benefits are restored
**
Full contribution to Retiree Health is restored
**
Effective January 1, 2022, each officer will receive 100 hours in a separate “Holiday Time Bank.”
Any new hires in 2021, do not receive the new bank.
The Holiday Time Bank can be used starting January 1, 2022, under the same rules for using vacation leave under Article 9 or, alternatively, at the discretion of the Chief and subject to the needs of the Department.
The Holiday Time Bank can be carried forward from year-to-year until used.
The holiday time bank is payable upon separation.

In 2022, monthly specialty pay is converted to percentages so as to be pensionable.
